For the first time, VARILUX engineers can analyze an entire beam of light entering the pupil (not just a single ray), so they can identify distortion and correct it to achieve optimal acuity. Patented, proprietary software then scans the entire surface of the lens, calculating the targeted optical function for each point, for each gaze direction. The result is a highly advanced lens design that reduces or eliminates many higher order aberrations to deliver unsurpassed acuity.
